We are seeking dedicated a Maintenance Mechanic in Manufacturing to join our Mexia, TX team! Your role as a Maintenance Mechanic is vital in supporting our Machine Operators and ensuring efficient operations to meet customer demands. Your innovative mindset and hands-on expertise will be invaluable in enhancing machine performance.
1st Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 6:00 AM- 4:30 PM
Pay Range: $27.00 - $30.00/hour, based on experience
Maintenance Mechanic Core Contributions:
Mechanical Maintenance
- Corrective and breakdown maintenance of all equipment: Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor's instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices.
- Diagnose machine malfunction and determine the need for adjustment or repair
- Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part
- Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part
- Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction
Preventative and corrective maintenance on all equipment
- Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment, following preventive maintenance schedule to ensure all machinery is in good, safe working order
- Basic fabrication and repair of all necessary equipment
Electrical Maintenance
- Perform testing, diagnostic, maintenance and troubleshooting work on machine tools and mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Perform diagnosis on plant power distribution systems
- Apply electrical knowledge to research and identify electrical components and parts
Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds
- Including snow removal, basic plumbing, HVAC and basic carpentry, etc.
Installing, troubleshooting and upgrading of all equipment
- Ability to install air/water/hydraulic piping or any additional systems required for proper machine installation with direction from senior Technicians, engineering or supervision.
- Read blue prints, schematic drawings and diagrams in order to properly and safely install machinery
- Assembles and test operates machine to verify safe working order and proper functionality
Maintenance Mechanic Essential Experiences:
- High School Diploma/GED required, Associates degree in related field of study preferred
- 3+ years experience and knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine shop tools and equipment within a similar working environment
- Able to read and interpret: electrical line diagrams, schematics and blue prints
- Experience with troubleshooting and replacement of electrical components including AC and DC motor drive controls
- Ability to use all multi-meter, amp-meter, oscilloscope and other electrical test tools necessary
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
- Basic computer skills (email, PM schedules, work orders, etc.)
- Ability to work in a stressful environment (loud, dirty, confined spaces, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license with ability to drive 24,900lb box truck or flat bed with manual or automatic transmission
