YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery (e.g., passenger loading bridges) using diagrams, manuals, hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments.
  • Diagnose equipment issues through observation, listening, and testing.
  • Dismantle devices to inspect, repair, and replace defective components.
  • Perform preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance, including electrical systems and control mechanisms.
  • Record maintenance activities, parts usage, and time spent accurately in CMMS.
  • Comply with all safety protocols, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Complete routine cleaning tasks, notify management of potential equipment issues, and be available for emergency response as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • 2+ years’ experience in equipment maintenance and maintenance operations.
  • Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Availability to work day or night shift including weekends and holidays.

PREFFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in airport operations or HVAC maintenance.
  • Understanding of PLC Control System.
  • Possess mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturer instructions regarding repair and maintenance of passenger loading bridges.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions as well as at different heights and confined spaces.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of a Maintenance Mechanic, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in outside weather conditions on an airport ramp. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good close proximity vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Good hand / eye coordination is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is similar to airport operation with vehicular traffic. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, outside weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will work on an airport ramp around aircrafts and around heavy equipment.
