Position: Maintenance Mechanic I, II, III
Location: Franklin Park, IL
Wage: $26.78 - 31.94/HR based on experience
Shift: 6pm-6am Rotating Schedule -12 hour shifts, 3 days one week, 4 days the following, off every other weekend. Night shift differential $1.25/hour

While reporting to the Plant Engineer as the Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for supporting the following requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Performing production tasks such as set-up, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Enforcing appropriate health and safety regulations.
- Safety: Zero (0) injuries. Will be required to support and/or lead safety initiatives for department and/or plant. Will be required to perform safety audits and training.
- Maintains and repairs production equipment as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
- Maintains and repairs utility and facility-related equipment as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist other maintenance personnel with repairs as needed.
- Assist other maintenance personnel with tooling changes and set up.
- Manage small projects to maintain or upgrade equipment.
Supports all safety processes and procedures, and participates monthly in Safety Hour, minimum.
Demonstrates ability to use all hand tools and power tools correctly. Maintains toolbox to department standards (5S)
Diagnoses and corrects pneumatic problem.
Able to diagnose and correct lubrication system problems (leaks, lack of lubrication).
Fabricate hoses using proper installation tools and fittings.
Monitor and maintain cooling water systems, including adding chemicals.
Performs PM tasks as assigned (lubrication, cleaning, inspection).
Demonstrate metal machining skills (measuring, cutting, drilling, welding) by fabricating a specific part from provided sketch.
Completes all maintenance paperwork (work orders, parts inventory tickets, 5S sweep sheets, timesheets).

- You can handle complex issues and problems, and refer only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
- You possess comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
- 3+ years in an industrial environment, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or installing manufacturing equipment, including pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment, and rotating equipment (driven shafts, blowers, fans).
- Experience in extrusion, injection molding, or thermoforming manufacturing operations preferred.
- Experience with machine shop equipment and welding.
- Electrical or controls experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects/responsibilities at same time.
- Self-motivated and pro-active.
- Able to read prints.
- Proficient with typical business software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), email, and the Internet.
- Education: Associates Degree or higher in technical field of study preferred (mechanical/electrical/industrial technology).
