Reports To: Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Mechanic I performs entry-level mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks under close supervision. This role supports daily maintenance operations, responds to equipment breakdowns, and ensures machinery operates safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment while adhering to GMP and safety standards.
Perform basic electrical work (120/220/480V systems).
Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, ovens, and production equipment.
Assist with pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor control systems.
Support PLC troubleshooting.
Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Safely operate hand and power tools.
Follow established safety programs and GMP standards.
Communicate effectively with maintenance and operations teams.
High School diploma or GED required.
6 months to 1 year of maintenance experience (food industry experience preferred).
Industrial Mechanical or Electrical Certification is a plus.
Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting systems.
Manufacturing setting with exposure to temperature changes, noise, humidity, and machinery. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, climbing, bending, and working with tools.
