Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic I

Classification: Non-Exempt | Full-Time
Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic I performs entry-level mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks under close supervision. This role supports daily maintenance operations, responds to equipment breakdowns, and ensures machinery operates safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment while adhering to GMP and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform basic electrical work (120/220/480V systems).

• Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, ovens, and production equipment.

• Assist with pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor control systems.

• Support PLC troubleshooting.

• Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.

• Safely operate hand and power tools.

• Follow established safety programs and GMP standards.

• Communicate effectively with maintenance and operations teams.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required.

• 6 months to 1 year of maintenance experience (food industry experience preferred).

• Industrial Mechanical or Electrical Certification is a plus.

• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting systems.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing setting with exposure to temperature changes, noise, humidity, and machinery. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks including standing, climbing, bending, and working with tools.
