                                                    JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

Location:             WIS-PAK of NORFOLK

                           

Position:             Maintenance Mechanic

                           

Reports To:         Maintenance Manager

 

Date:                    08/25/17                                                                   

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

  • Preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment to prevent down time as much as possible and install and fabricate equipment as needed while also up keeping building and grounds.

 

 

JOB DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Note: The job functions relate to the job, not the individual)

  • Maintain high safety standards by enforcing all safety policies, assuring proper PPE use, and following all lock-out/ tag-out procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is performing properly.
  • Trouble shoot, service, and repair equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Document all activity during shift.
  • Follow all Food Safety and GMP Policies.

 

 

JOB DUTIES/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS (Not fundamental job duties)

  • Operate production equipment when necessary.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum High School education or equivalent.
  • Basic math and writing skills.
  • Ability to work alone and with others.
  • Works with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be dependable.
  • Able to work in varying conditions (hot, humid, cold, etc.)
  • Ability to stand, squat, kneel or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Possess good mechanical and problem solving skills.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Follow all GMP’s ( Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Follow all food safety policies, procedures and regulations.
