Starting Pay: $26.94/hour

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Minimum 36 hours/week)

Are you ready to build a strong foundation in mechanical maintenance while continuing your education? Join our team as a Mechanical Apprentice and gain hands-on experience under the guidance of skilled mentors. You’ll rotate through various departments, learning how to maintain and repair the equipment that keeps our operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Receive on-the-job training in maintenance and repair of mill equipment, machinery, and tools.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks requiring care and precision.
• Assist with preventive maintenance including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
• Assist with tear downs, repair, replace, and reassemble mechanical components.
• Report faulty materials, environmental hazards, or improper equipment operation.

What We’re Looking For

• A strong interest in mechanical systems and industrial maintenance.
• 1–2 years of experience in an industrial environment with maintenance exposure (preferred, not required).
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills to collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and operators.
• Gerdau will provide tuition reimbursement as you are completing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Apprentices are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA or better throughout the program.

Your Future with Us

Upon successful completion of the program and earning your AAS degree, you’ll be expected to transition into a full-time role with a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including days, nights, and two consecutive weekends per month.
