POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems within the facility. This includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other facility-related issues. The role ensures the continuous operation of equipment and machinery while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues in the facility.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems and machinery to identify potential problems or wear and tear.
- Ensure all work performed complies with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain and repair facility-related equipment including conveyors, pumps, motors, and other mechanical systems.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and part replacements.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment and machinery as needed.
- Work with the Facilities Manager to develop and execute maintenance schedules and manage spare parts inventory.
- Perform general facility upkeep, such as repairing doors, windows, walls, and lighting.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure equipment and systems are operating efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in a maintenance mechanic role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with industrial machinery, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a maintenance environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Other Details:
- Work Environment: Factory setting with regular interaction with production and warehouse areas.
- Physical Demands: Role may require constant walking, repeated twisting, standing, bending, squatting and lifting 50 lbs. or higher.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for extended hours as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel may be required for supplier visits, conferences, and inter-facility coordination.
