Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and dependable
Maintenance Mechanic
to join our team. This position will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving equipment throughout our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable working with mechanical, hydraulic, and industrial equipment.
Technicians with experience in manufacturing environments with extensive hydraulic systems tend to do very well in this role. Experience working around
presses, paint lines, conveyors, roll-forming equipment, or other heavy manufacturing equipment
is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
procedures safely and correctly before performing maintenance or repairs.
- Complete scheduled
preventative maintenance (PM)
on plant equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
- Perform
alignments
on conveyors, gearboxes, motors, and related equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, and replace bearings, belts, chains, couplings, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components.
- Properly identify and use the appropriate
greases and lubricants
for different gears, bearings, motors, and equipment.
- Proficiently replace and install
hydraulic hoses, including both
JIC and SAE fittings.
- Respond to maintenance calls and equipment breakdowns throughout the facility.
- Complete assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks within required timeframes.
- Work safely and efficiently across multiple areas of the plant.
- Assist with identifying equipment issues and making recommendations to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Hands-on industrial maintenance or maintenance mechanic experience, preferably in a
manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with
LOTO procedures.
- Experience performing
preventative maintenance
on industrial equipment.
- Experience with
conveyor, gearbox, and motor alignment.
- Working knowledge of different types of
grease, lubricants, and lubrication practices
and when to use them.
- Proficiency replacing and installing
hydraulic hoses and fittings, including
JIC and SAE.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
- Ability to read and follow maintenance procedures, work orders, and equipment documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a maintenance team.
- Commitment to following all company safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Preferred Experience
- Manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience working extensively with
hydraulic systems.
- Experience working around
presses.
- Experience maintaining
paint lines.
- Experience with
roll-forming equipment, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and fabrication/welding equipment.
