Maintenance MechanicEnvironment: Dusty, non–temperature-controlled manufacturing facility

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our 3rd shift operations. This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently, especially during the second half of the shift when plant leadership is not onsite. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on plant experience, and the ability to perform maintenance in a dusty, industrial environment.

You’ll support a team of approximately 12 employees, including 8–10 operators and one Electrician, ensuring equipment runs efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and complex maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Troubleshoot and repair a variety of critical equipment such as:Belt and screw conveyorsAir compressorsPumps, burners, and blowersConduct fabrication work including welding and machining.Handle general facility repairs, installations, and improvements.Participate in preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate documentation in CMMS systems.Work independently, making sound decisions when leadership is not present.Support voluntary and occasional mandatory weekend overtime on a rotating schedule.

Must-Have Qualifications

2–3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (5+ years preferred).Strong troubleshooting ability with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Experience working in dusty, non‐climate‐controlled environments (hot in summer, cold in winter).Self‐sufficient, proactive, and comfortable working with minimal supervision—especially on off‐shift.Hands-on experience with equipment such as conveyors, compressors, burners, pumps, and blowers.Ability to complete a 1–3 month training period on day shift.

Nice to Have

Electrical experience, including:PLC troubleshootingVFDs, motors, drives, gearboxesBasic wiringKnowledge of NEC codes.Electro-mechanical skillset.Experience using CMMS platforms, managing work orders, and organizing spare parts inventory.Strong preventive maintenance background
