Position Overview

A growing manufacturing company in the Waterbury, CT area is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support production equipment, facility systems, and day-to-day maintenance needs. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, setting up, and maintaining production equipment while helping keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, hands-on, and comfortable troubleshooting equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment

• Perform equipment setup procedures according to SOPs and equipment manuals

• Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings

• Diagnose equipment issues and assist with root cause analysis

• Determine necessary testing, adjustments, repairs, or component replacement

• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs when needed

• Ensure proper setup and operation of production/packaging lines

• Complete maintenance work orders accurately and in a timely manner

• Maintain documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality requirements

• Perform basic facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and general repairs

• Inspect equipment and work areas for cleanliness and proper condition

• Perform pest-control-related duties as assigned

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean and organized work areas

• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment as required

• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment

• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems

• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings

• Comfortable using basic power tools

• Knowledge of both SAE and metric measurement systems

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to take initiative

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Comfortable learning new equipment and processes

• Commitment to safety and quality standards

• Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40+ pounds

• Ability to work at elevated heights using ladders or scissor lifts

• Ability to push and pull heavy loads regularly

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time

• Ability to work in both hot and cold/unconditioned environments

• Ability to comply with required PPE and safety procedures
