We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Topeka, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing a range of equipment—from pneumatic and hydraulic systems to AC/DC electrical systems. .
System Repairs & Installations:
Troubleshoot, repair, and install pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, and centrifugal/positive displacement pumps.
Diagnose and repair AC/DC electrical systems, reading schematics and utilizing Volt-Ohm meters, amp meters, and oscilloscopes.
Preventative & Corrective Maintenance:
Contribute to preventative maintenance programs and assist with work order tracking.
Respond to maintenance calls, inspect machinery, develop repair lists, and identify both short-term and long-term solutions.
Multi-Craft Repairs:
Perform interrelated repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, including high-voltage wiring (480V 3-phase motors).
Operate and assist with the use of lathes, mills, arc welders, and Heliarc welders for repair and fabrication tasks.
Team Support & Training:
Assist entry-level mechanics with challenging repairs and provide technical guidance.
Work effectively under pressure to restore equipment functionality and maximize operational uptime.
Technical Expertise:
Proven base knowledge in mechanical maintenance repair, with an emphasis on electrical and multi-craft repairs.
Extensive understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, including the ability to read schematics and operate electrical testing equipment.
Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) and high-voltage wiring.
Experience & Education:
Preferred: At least two years of hands-on training or experience in mechanical/electrical repair within a manufacturing environment.
Technical school training in mechanical or electrical repair is a plus.
Welding experience is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift between 15 to 50 pounds.
Capable of standing and walking for extended periods and performing tasks that require climbing, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and stretching.
Comfortable working in environments with extreme temperatures, high humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfaces.
Additional Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old.
A hands-on electrical skills test is required prior to the in-person interview.
