The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for routine general maintenance and repairs to all facets of the refrigerated warehouse, as well as perform complex day-to-day repairs on distribution center equipment. This position will also provide general maintenance support to the entire facility and offices as needed.

This position will be required to work Sunday-Thursday from 8-4:30.


Essential Functions:

  1. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all facets of the refrigeration equipment and distribution center equipment and machines, such as conveyer systems and material handling equipment.
  2. Provide general maintenance to include basic construction needs (drywall, framing, painting).
  3. Control the equipment set points to accommodate the needs of our customers and to maintain the quality of the product.
  4. Ability to construct, disassemble, and repair storage equipment (i.e. pallet racking, CFR racking and shelving).
  5. Ability to maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical and plumbing problems.
  6. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  7. Work directly with outside contractors as needed assuring all equipment is maintained allowing for continuous operation of distribution center.

The successful candidate will be required to communicate effectively by talking, listening, and reading. This role is dynamic and entails a range of physical activities including standing (and sitting) for extended periods, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and operating equipment. Additionally, candidates must be capable of lifting and/or moving items weighing up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities necessary for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Candidates must be comfortable working in a refrigerated environment maintained at 36 degrees Fahrenheit and working in non temperature controlled environments.

Qualifications


  1. Must have HVAC certification.
  2. Refrigeration experience (cold storage/refrigerated warehousing) required.
  3. Previous general maintenance experience required.
  4. Knowledge of building trades (drywall, framing, Electrical etc.)
  5. Ability to adjust shifts as needed during peak floral holidays and for vacation coverage as needed.
  6. Proficient with Computers: MS office
  7. Must Have a valid NJ Driver license
