The
Maintenance Mechanic
is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment to keep production running efficiently.
This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting overall plant operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment to reduce unplanned breakdowns
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues such as bearings, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, sensors, control panels, VFDs, and low- to medium-voltage wiring
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals to diagnose problems and plan repairs
- Safely perform lockout/tagout procedures, follow all safety protocols, and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Install, adjust, and align new or rebuilt equipment, components, and control devices as needed
- Document maintenance work performed, parts used, and findings in work orders or maintenance systems
- Communicate equipment status, repair needs, and improvement ideas with supervisors, operators, and other team members
Additional Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment and perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, and system checks
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand and power tools
- Assist with general facility maintenance and repairs as needed
- Participate in training and cross-training efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum
2+ years of industrial maintenance or mechanic experience
- Strong mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical documents
- Experience using a wide variety of hand and power tools
- High school diploma or GED required

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position is located in a manufacturing/production environment and may involve:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and crouching
- Standing for extended periods of time
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Use of hand and power tools
- Exposure to typical manufacturing noise levels
- Intermittent exposure to heat or cold
- Working in proximity to moving mechanical parts and machinery
