Job Description:
Client is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in New Castle, Pennsylvania.
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing a variety of company vehicles and construction equipment, including fleet trucks, forklifts, and other construction machinery.
This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and operational. The successful candidate will be comfortable diagnosing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, maintaining accurate service records, and working independently while collaborating with other maintenance and shop personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair fleet vehicles and construction equipment.
Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on fleet trucks, forklifts, and construction machinery.
Identify mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
Recommend parts, components, and materials required for repairs and replacement.
Perform oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and other routine maintenance.
Track equipment maintenance activities and ensure service intervals are maintained.
Document equipment issues, repairs, inspections, and maintenance history.
Help ensure all equipment remains safe, dependable, and ready for operation.
Shop & Equipment Operations
Safely use basic hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other shop equipment.
Operate vehicles and equipment throughout the maintenance shop and yard as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and functional maintenance area.
Follow established safety procedures and maintenance practices.
Work cooperatively with maintenance and shop personnel to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Support the team in minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining fleet availability.
Qualifications & Skills:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
Previous experience servicing and repairing vehicles, fleet trucks, forklifts, construction equipment, or similar machinery.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to follow instructions and established maintenance procedures.
Ability to stay focused, manage tasks, and work independently.
Strong computer skills and ability to maintain electronic or computerized records.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with maintenance and shop personnel.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and related maintenance equipment.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to perform hands-on mechanical work in a shop and yard environment.
Candidates must be able to:
Frequently stand, kneel, crouch, and stoop while performing maintenance activities.
Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work around vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment.
Safely perform physical tasks associated with inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance.
Work Schedule:
Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week
Overtime: May be required to complete assigned tasks and support operational needs.
