Description
SUMMARY: Under general direction, the maintenance mechanic position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain systems, and equipment to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
· Inspect equipment for needed repair / maintenance.
· Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
· Read and interpret equipment schematics, manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
· Troubleshoot and Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
· Perform regular scheduled preventive maintenance on machines, and equipment.
· Maintain current, organized maintenance records.
· Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
· Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
· Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
· Work different shifts to perform preventive maintenance, as needed.
· Operate forklift, stand up forklift, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
· Enforces sound safety and housekeeping practices.
· Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
· Other duties may be assigned.

· Be able to coordinate a schedule and prioritize a job list for yourself as well as other maintenance staff for prompt completion.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
