Maintenance Mechanic

Location: General Motors CCA site in Lansing, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to maintain and repair building systems, manufacturing equipment, and facilities infrastructure under the direction of Facility and Operations Managers. This role is critical to preserving physical assets and ensuring optimal operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing & Process Equipment

• Maintain tank farm operations, bulk fluid systems, and compressed gas distribution
• Service regenerative thermal oxidizers and oil mist collectors
• Support compressed natural gas facility operations
• Manage Class 7 clean room systems and production exhaust systems

Mechanical Systems

• Diagnose and repair pumps, motors, hydraulics, and speed/feed systems
• Operate controller programs (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens)
• Maintain HVAC/R systems including temperature, pressure, and dew point control
• Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs

Building Systems

• Service building automation and monitoring systems
• Maintain power systems including emergency and UPS systems
• Support utility and piping systems
• Provide audio-visual and camera system support

Performance Metrics

• Complete work orders within 24-hour SLA
• Achieve 100% PM completion rates
• Maintain safety training compliance
• Support client scorecard objectives
• Participate in safety concern processes

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Basic plumbing and electrical repair
• HVAC/R systems maintenance and troubleshooting
• Mechanical systems diagnosis and repair
• Pumps, motors, and hydraulic systems operation
• Safety protocols and pre-task planning methods
• General building maintenance and housekeeping
• Excellent English communication skills (oral/written)
• Ability to follow JLL and client policies/procedures

Preferred Skills

• Controller programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens)
• Building automation systems knowledge
• Audio-visual and camera systems experience
• Industrial process equipment maintenance
• Compressed gas systems experience
• Clean room operations knowledge
• Predictive maintenance techniques
• Emergency and UPS power systems

Education & Experience

Required:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year building maintenance experience
• Valid driver's license

Preferred:

• Technical training program completion
• Forklift and aerial lift operator certification

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 80 lbs regularly
• Work at heights up to 30 ft using ladders
• Frequent walking, climbing, bending, and overhead work
• Ability to climb ladders while carrying 20 lb tool bag
