Job Overview:

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to support the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of CNC machining equipment and related manufacturing systems. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for minimizing downtime, maximizing equipment reliability, and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills, along with experience maintaining CNC machining centers, automation equipment, conveyors, and auxiliary production systems.

This role will be working the weekend shift schedule, which is Friday-Sunday working 12 hour days. You will train on our day shift before moving to the weekend shift. The weekend shift qualifies for a premium shift pay on top of your hourly wage

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on CNC machining centers and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues on CNC machines.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and determine root causes to minimize downtime.
  • Repair and replace machine components including spindles, ball screws, linear guides, bearings, pumps, motors, valves, sensors, and tooling systems.
  • Support CNC machine alignment, calibration, and machine accuracy verification.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic diagrams, and OEM manuals.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated production equipment, conveyors, robotics, and machine peripheral systems.
  • Install, modify, and improve production equipment to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Support PLC troubleshooting and work collaboratively with Controls Technicians when advanced programming changes are required.
  • Perform lockout/tagout procedures and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history within the CMMS system.
  • Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with equipment startup, shutdown, and production support activities.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and identify critical replacement components.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.

  • Experience maintaining CNC machining centers such as Mazak, Okuma, Haas, Makino, Fanuc, Mori Seiki, or similar equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of:- Mechanical systems

    • Hydraulics
    • Pneumatics
    • Bearings and power transmission
    • Electrical controls
    • Motors and drives
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Basic PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, or equivalent).

  • Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools.

  • Familiarity with CMMS software and preventive maintenance programs.
