Summary
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools, fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair machines, and maintains industrial machines and support equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Works safely and applies safe practices at all times Use proper safety devices in a correct manner, and utilize safety techniques when working in and around equipment and/or working in non-production areas Accurately diagnose and solve mechanical problems as they arise Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems Troubleshoot and repair pumps Weld a variety of different materials using various types of welding equipment Assemble, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment Use and accurately read precision measuring equipment Perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed Accurately complete all work order and record/document work performed Work/coordinate with and through others to accomplish required tasks Layout a Bill of Material for any job Immediately respond to situations as they arise within the facility Install tooling accurately and completely Apply knowledge to improve the mechanical procedures within set standards Adhere to and complies too all General Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).

Education and /or Experience
High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Previous experience as a mechanic in an industrial environment is required.
Possess a valid State of Michigan drivers license.
Have, or able to obtain, forklift license. Previous fork lift and scissor lift driving experience helpful.
