Position Summary:
- Responsible for maintaining all plant equipment. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of PLC’s and possess troubleshooting and repair experience with electrical systems.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Requires good math skills and ability to read and understand instructions and manuals.
- Must have thorough knowledge of PLC controlled machinery.
- Requires experience and skills in areas relating to electrical machine maintenance and modification.
- Must be advanced in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and general computer applications.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, be able to transport 50 to 75 pounds, and operate shop equipment, power tools and use hand tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair all types of manufacturing equipment using specialized experience in electrical and PLC controlled equipment.
- Upgrades equipment from outdated relay logic to PLC controls by building new panels from wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Maintains a total preventive maintenance program which follows manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures.*
- Assists with handling equipment breakdowns as needed and as assigned by Manufacturing Engineering Manager. *
- Assists with handling completion of work orders for in-house repair requests as scheduled by Maintenance Manager. *
- Assists with set-up and breakdown for any Company events and/or meetings, such as Halloween Party, Christmas Party, Company Picnic, Retirement Parties, etc. *
Miscellaneous
- Participates in lean activities, including but not limited to: *
- Lean training and lean events such as kaizen or a 5-day event.
- 5-S program in the various departments assigned.
- DMAICs. Continuously looks for ways to improve both the department’s and own individual efficiencies and time management, as well as ways to improve any aspect of the Company’s operations, and develops and implements DMAICs accordingly.
- Notifies Manager of any production, equipment, safety, personnel problems, etc. and cooperates in resolving such issues as well. For example, requests assistance when systems prevent the efficient performance of duties or when a system fails. *
- Provides Manager with feedback to determine where additional training would benefit, and obtains additional training as necessary.
- Complies with all Company policies (i.e. personnel, safety, etc.).
- Performs other duties as assigned. (Such duties may or may not be essential functions of the job.)

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Primarily works indoors in temperature controlled environment.
- Primarily requires walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, bending, driving, and transporting up to 75 pounds.
