Job Overview:

We are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic for our location in Charlotte, North Carolina.

We have 7 facilities in Oregon, California, North Carolina, and Ohio that supply new steel drums, reconditioned steel drums, reconditioned IBCs, plastic drums, and recycled plastic. The Maintenance Mechanic will help ensure that all equipment is functioning at optimal so there is no downtime while production is running. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform all work in a safe manner following company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance in accordance with Preventative Maintenance Procedures
  • Troubleshoot machinery, determine and implement corrective actions
  • Order parts as needed in accordance with company policy
  • Remove, modify and replacement of machine components as needed
  • Perform welding (includes ARC, MIG)
  • Torch cutting
  • Knowledge in metal fabrication
  • Familiar with pipe fittings
  • Able to learn to operate all machines
  • Knowledge of electrical functions and able to apply to assignments
  • Knowledge or Experience with PLC’s and drives. Able to program, change outputs/inputs, modify programs and use lap top to troubleshoot equipment is a plus
  • Able to work with or without schematics
  • Must work with and train new maintenance mechanics
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Able to work Day or Afternoon shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed with short notice
  • Able to work with little supervision

**Other Duties**include but are not limited to the following:

  • Operation of machines (infrequent)

**Qualifications**to perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the above duties.

Required Education, Skill, Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED, plus 3-5 years Work Experience in a similar environment'

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $71,500.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Preferred)
