Description
Position Objective: | Conduct maintenance of mechanical processes in a manner that will ensure the highest reliability. Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors systems and production machines and equipment. Observe mechanical equipment in operation and troubleshoot failures. |

Maintenance | - Oversee mechanical devices while in operation – look and listen for complications using accurate testing and measuring instruments.
- Dismantle equipment to examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Repair or replace defective parts.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments. Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricate and clean parts.
- Setup and operate drill press, grinder, mill and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Start devices to test their performance.
- Request parts (stock and equipment) for purchase and implementation.
- Light welding.
- Complete maintenance care obligations, according to manufacturer recommendations or as instructed.
- Perform basic electrical and instrumentation work, as required.

- Participate in sharing of knowledge so as to enhance development of the maintenance team.
- Regularly communicate with other employees regarding ongoing repairs, including status of repair or part request.
- Exceptional ability to perform in a noisy, humid, hot and high volume machine production environment.

Qualifications
A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED | - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical terminology.
- Ability to recognize problems with various types of industrial machinery, pneumatics, robots and automation equipment.
- First Class Steam license.
- Knowledge of laser alignment.
- Light welding experience.
- Basic electrical and instrumentation knowledge.
- Experience in food processing.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to airborne particles and chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee frequently works in high places and is infrequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
