STI/Alva Tech located in Burlington, New Jersey is seeking a talented Maintenance Mechanic to support our manufacturing operations. This role will be tasked with the routine maintenance, repair and trouble shooting of production equipment for the location. Successful candidates will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues with manufacturing equipment.
- Schedule predictive maintenance on equipment to avoid downtime during production runs; lubrication, adjustments, alignments and part replacement.
- Replace/repair broken or worn parts such as motors, gears, bearings, belts, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning sensors, and other automated control systems.
- Maintain all records on each piece of equipment as to history, work done and related issues.
- Work with external vendors and suppliers for parts and service when needed.
- Adhere to company safety standards and OSHA regulations, LOTO, ensuring that all maintenance activities are performed safely.
- Track and manage the usage of spare parts, tools, and equipment to optimize resource utilization and cost-efficiency.
- Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new equipment or machinery.
- Work closely with production staff and supervisors to identify and address recurring equipment issues or bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with other departments (production, quality control, engineering) to implement corrective actions or system optimizations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred. Associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance, with a solid understanding of machinery, electrical systems, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with sensors, and automated systems
- Knowledge of welding, fabricating, and machining.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- OSHA safety certification (preferred).
- Electrical or mechanical certifications (preferred).
