**Job Description-Maintenance Mechanic

**

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for scheduling and performing routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic performs emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic and identifies and replaces worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

**

• Perform preventative maintenance procedures on machines, equipment, and systems

• Conduct routine inspections of machinery and equipment

• Maintains equipment and repairs or replaces malfunctioning production or processing machinery

• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs completed

• Work with other maintenance staff and departments in a cooperative manner

• Respond on an on-demand basis to emergency requests for repair

• Regularly check the equipment and machinery from a safety point of view, and ensure that it meets OSHA

• Assist in facility renovation and improvement projects

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems

•Perform basic electrical repair and maintenance, own their own tools

**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

**

• Must be capable of operating hand, power and specialized tools

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

 • Must be a team player and willing and able to work with minimal supervision

• Performs other duties, as needed and when assigned

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience repairing equipment

 • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (written and verbal)

• Ability to act competently in emergencies
