We are hiring for a Maintenance Manager in our Arlington, TX location. The Maintenance Manager will assist with all maintenance activities to ensure maximum operational potential is realized for the entire plant operation. This includes technical skills management of electrical, electronics, controls programming, mechanical systems (process equipment, packaging equipment), waste treatment, stockroom, building and grounds, utilities systems including but not limited to boiler operations. Assistance with the development, coordination and execution of maintenance related capital budget items.

  • Directs maintenance personnel to ensure that all systems operate at their highest capability to meet required production schedules, quality, costs and schedule priorities.
  • Oversees the speed of repairs to minimize downtime, minimize the use of parts/labor, and addresses problems pro-actively. Improves reliability, maintenance and processing methods to reduce cost and avoid loss of production as a result of equipment malfunction or failure time.
  • Analyzes production downtime reports, determines opportunities, and initiates action plan to increase efficiencies.
  • Oversees all maintenance operations including, but not limited to, machinery, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems and boiler operations.
  • Conducts continuous assessments of the manufacturing facility, repairs/improvements, operating machinery and its supporting systems. Implements continuous improvement of process through equipment improvement modifications.
  • Determines equipment capabilities, safety and operational condition in coordination with the other supervisors and technicians.
  • Develops preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment.
  • Coordinates and supervises corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with company operating procedures, practices and financial considerations.
  • Oversee preparation of requisitions to determine the number of spare parts to be kept in inventory.
  • Develops, implements and reviews regularly, site-specific maintenance logs for department.
  • Provide maintenance training to include the effective utilization of the maintenance logs, completion of routine maintenance specific to facility, equipment operations and support.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Ensures that equipment and facility are maintained in a safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement/upgrades.
  • Enforce plant and company safety programs, promoting and maintaining a high level of awareness and adherence to defined employee safety requirements such as lock-out/tag-out, personal protective equipment, etc.
  • Communicates with outside agencies i.e. contractors, equipment suppliers, technical consultants and vendors as needed.

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Associate's degree preferred. Engineering or related Technical field is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in a Manufacturing environment is required, food manufacturing experience is a plus. Supervisory experience required. Union experience is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead a team to be accountable and meet department metrics and goals.
  • Intermediate computer skills required, including Microsoft Word and Excel skills.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with hazardous chemicals and materials, etc. 
  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as samples and record boxes. This position requires frequent pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50lbs.
