The Role:
Supervises and coordinates workers' activities in maintaining, installing, and performing preventative maintenance on various machines to manufacture fencing by performing the following duties. Directly supervises employees in the Sawmill. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This position reports to the Mill Operations Manager.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee will need to lift or carry 25 pounds or more frequently and may, at times, be required to lift/move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Work Schedule
This position is exempt per FLSA guidelines and not eligible for overtime. A typical schedule requires the ability to work 40 hours a week. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends to accommodate critical goals and objectives may be necessary.
