Job Overview:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

General description of main/primary duties and responsibilities of the job, aptitude, level of complexity, span of control, autonomy, decision making and judgement. It is central and necessary to the satisfactory performance of the job. Includes the following and other duties as assigned.

Under limited guidance this position will:

  • Manage and perform work safely to ensure all employees and contractors comply with safety processes and procedures when performing duties at all times.
  • Comply with all Environmental laws, policies, and regulations. Promptly report all adverse Environmental conditions.
  • Manage and provide direction for the day to day Midstream Maintenance programs by primarily overseeing the engine and compressor maintenance tasks.
  • Provide operational and technical support to Operational and Maintenance personnel to assist with complex troubleshooting situations and optimize equipment performance.
  • Oversee and manage the coordination, scheduling, and supervision of the mobilization of crews to perform specific maintenance duties.
  • Ensure an effective and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for acting as lead representative with engine and compressor original equipment manufacturer (OEM’s) to address mechanical issues requiring technical and engineering support.
  • Provide constant communication with all team members. Communicate and advise senior operations management to provide updates on key activities, report issues, and report on operational efficiency metrics.
  • Review, verify, and approve all applicable invoices for third (3rd) party services and materials.
  • Manage daily operational costs to meet budgetary expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, Licensure (minimum level required)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least eight (8) years of maintenance and/ or oil & gas industry experience.
  • At least five (5) years of oil & gas industry related supervisory or management experience.
  • Waukesha, Caterpillar, and Ariel advanced mechanical and maintenance training.


CORE COMPETENCIES 

List and describe the required factors (i.e. knowledge, skills, abilities, software programs, equipment, competencies), that make it important or needed for this role. Indicate the level of proficiency/expertise for each when possible.

  • Demonstrated and advanced knowledge with natural gas and diesel fired engines, reciprocating and rotary screw compressors, and related equipment control systems.
  • Demonstrated and advanced knowledge of engine and compressor overhaul programs and practices.
  • Proficient knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of electric and gas engine driven compressor package maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Proficient knowledge of pneumatic and electric starters, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, ignition systems, and other compression related anatomy.
  • Functional electrical, mechanical, and computer knowledge.
  • Understand the standard operations of production, such as, separators, dehydration units, etc.
  • Highly skilled to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities, tasks, growth, and direction.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, foster and encourage teamwork to achieve value accretive objectives and projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc. and use/ operation of standard office equipment.
  • Ability to present, demonstrate, teach or guide others in performance of assigned work.


SAFETY SENSITIVE RELATED

  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will have managerial responsibilities over the team. Supervises two (2) or more Full-Time Employees regularly.


Responsible for regularly making decisions and/or recommendations concerning:

  • Interviewing/hiring.
  • Mentoring/ongoing training.
  • Setting or adjusting work hours.
  • Plan, appoint, and direct the work.
  • Appraise performance/productivity and efficiency.
  • Recommend advancement, promotions, or other changes in status.
  • Handle complaints/grievances and disciplinary issues.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Excludes occasional visitation to the field – reference Travel section.

Both Office and Field Related:

  • Job is performed in both the office and in the field work environment.
  • Approximately 75% in the office and 25% in the field.


This position may be subject to:

  • Exposure to computer screens and requires regular use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system.
  • Extreme Cold and Heat: temperatures typically below 32o F or above 100o F for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
  • Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
  • Confined Space: work areas large enough for individual to enter, limited means of entry or exit, and not designed for continue occupancy.
  • Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals, combustibles, explosives, etc.


HOURS / SHIFTS

  • Regular business hours.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to handle, install, position, move materials and manipulate things.
  • Frequently lift, push, carry and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Frequently be able to bend, stoop, crouch, etc.
  • Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to perform work, evaluate sites and conditions, inspect equipment/assets, etc.
  • Usual field site/location visits may present more strenuous exertion than office work.


TRAVEL

Approximate amount of time: Minimal (under 25%); Regularly (25% - 75%); Frequent (more than 75%).

  • Minimal travel may be required to other locations.
