SCOPE OF POSITION: Develop and lead a maintenance department that applies technical knowledge, understands urgency, and is committed to Predictive and preventive maintenance while supporting the daily needs of an active manufacturing environment. The manufacturing environment includes electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. The candidate must have the ability to manage people and projects, provide oversight and give direction using knowledge of equipment principles, be able to troubleshoot at a level beyond basic understanding and disseminate that understanding to have their team quickly rectify failures and prevent repeat issues.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum of 7-10 years of proven experience in the mechanical or hydraulic or pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas. Experience in leading and motivating direct report team members, union leadership preferred. Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting. Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work. Must be highly safety conscientious. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical and drug test
EDUCATION High school diploma or its equivalent required. Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field is required. Engineering experience highly valued.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The job requires working in a manufacturing environment around equipment and machines in a production manufacturing setting. Plant environment includes dust, fumes, heat and climatic conditions typical in foundries, forge shops, or manufacturing facilities. May also be working in office or outside.
HOURS OF WORK Position would typically be on first shift, however second, or third shift support might also be required. Off shift work may be required in the event of breakdowns.
