Job Summary: Lead a mission driven Maintenance team to perform highly diversified mechanical (including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic) duties to install, trouble shoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety and operational guidelines as well as preventative maintenance and production schedules.
Essential Functions
- Ensure the safety of the Maintenance team through requiring safe work practices, regularly discussing safety as a priority, and looking for opportunities to remove hazards.
- Maintain an efficient work force by participating in the screening, interviewing, and selection of the Maintenance team.
- Develop the team’s skills by conducting training meetings; providing one on one development sessions; and coordinating outside technical skills training.
- Provide on-going performance feedback to team members through formal and informal channels; including recognition of a job well done, regular performance evaluations, and, when necessary, documented corrective action conversations.
- Responsible for the Maintenance team’s adherence to quality standards, efficiency levels, proper machine utilization, housekeeping, and safety practices.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, personnel, and equipment. Manage and delegate daily job assignments including scheduling work hours. Establish priorities for maintenance schedules.
- Maintain manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitor purchase orders, and invoice approvals.
- Coordinate work with outside inspections and vendors, provide project management, and ensure the safety of outside personnel.
- Establish, manage, and maintain the Maintenance team’s preventative and predictive maintenance procedures for equipment in the manufacturing environment to ensure production meets or performs better than budget.
- Set and maintain departmental budget. Review financial statements; monitor efficiencies; monitor labor cost; and other department expenses.
- Participate in designing and developing future production capacities by attending design meetings; coordinating with production regarding product changes and improvements; and updating maintenance operating procedures and schedules to incorporate the changes.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Technical degree, certification, or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities preferred but not required
- Minimum of five years of experience in leadership, preferably within a heavy manufacturing and welding environment, with demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict resolution
- Proven experience in leading safety compliance and driving employee engagement
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Visual, and related software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter with an inclination to consistently apply critical and analytical thinking skills
