Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading our maintenance team(s), maintenance systems, coordinating continuous improvement activities and participating in strategic planning for our fabrication operations. Candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience in a maintenance supervisory role, maintenance planning experience, and an excellent knowledge of manufacturing operations with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical skills with overhead cranes and various other manufacturing equipment.
Skills and Requirements:
- 5+ years’ proven experience in maintenance planning and supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, make timely decisions and multi-task effectively
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Computer proficient, capable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and operational experience in a CMMS environment
- High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree or Degree from a vocational school in a related field is preferred.
- Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) is a plus.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Be a safety champion by actively participating, promoting and improving our safety policies culture, leading by example, and helping others to achieve their full safety potential
- Support our environmental compliance programs by understanding and supporting appropriate waste processing, water discharge and air safety and monitoring
- Develop & implement sound maintenance procedures and practices
- Lead, train, schedule and motivate maintenance department employees
- Coordinate quality and efficient work performed by outside vendors
- Coordinate Maintenance “Best Practices” with teams at other company facilities
- Prioritize and document all preventive and reactive maintenance & repairs of company assets and parts
- Ensure timely & efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates within budgetary targets
- Receive, control and monitor inventory and equipment calibration/certification
- Ensure company vehicles, cranes and other assets are routinely inspected, cleaned, fueled and in proper working order
- Support plant management as needed to achieve company goals
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to constantly work in various indoor conditions including hot and cold temperatures, dust and noisy conditions.
- Must be able to lift a maximum weight up to 20 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to carry a maximum weight up to 20 lbs. frequently; 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching forward, balancing, feeling, object handling, simple hand grasping, firm hand grasping, and operating controls will be required.
- Regular sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching overhead, stooping, and crouching will be required.
- Must be able to properly wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
