Join our team and take charge of the overall maintenance of our facility's machinery. This role is crucial for aligning team objectives with departmental goals and ensuring resource flow to meet these goals. You will foster strong relationships with the Production team to coordinate activities and ensure reliable processes from incoming pulp to the final product. As part of the leadership team, you will implement practices to maintain the plant's competitiveness and impact profitability, efficiency, cost management, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote a safe work culture adhering to company safety rules and standards.
  • Exhibit core leadership skills: accountability, credibility, and trust.
  • Ensure consistent coaching, discipline, and recognition in line with HR policy.
  • Develop maintenance personnel to ensure bench strength.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and coaching for salaried and hourly staff.
  • Promote usage of the CMMS system for team direction and assistance.
  • Enhance maintenance team growth through leadership in root cause analysis, precision maintenance, preventive programs, and reliability improvements.
  • Improve critical maintenance metrics like unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Champion asset availability and reliability through effective maintenance strategies.
  • Utilize vendor services for quality, performance, and reliability improvements.
  • Manage engineers to enhance equipment availability.
  • Support plant reliability efforts and develop staffing plans.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
  • 10 years of experience in the maintenance field.
  • 3-5 years in a Maintenance Supervisory role.
  • Deep understanding of maintenance work functions including predictive and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
