Maintenance Manager

POSITION PURPOSE

 This Maintenance Manager position is responsible for the maintenance of the facility and all production equipment within the Jonesboro Operations. Specifically, this position is responsible for the maintenance shop activities, planning/scheduling, maintenance supervisors, storeroom, and facilities maintenance. The key functions are failure analysis, driving the skill and contribution levels of the hourly technicians, project management support, coordination of multiple functional requirements, and building the teamwork necessary for a World Class TQM environment.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  1. Review and analyze daily downtime for performance improvements.
  2. Establish a planning cycle and execute a program for equipment rebuilds.
  3. Manage the root causes of component failures and develop corrective solutions.
  4. Track and resolve repetitive problems and ensure proper work methods are implemented.
  5. Audit technician craftsmanship from PM downs, rebuilds, and general work practices.
  6. Develop a skill development plan of action for each technician and track for progress.
  7. Support and manage capital project implementations with the technicians and supervisors.
  8. Ensure the IOSHA compliance programs are held in strict adherence to policy.
  9. Maintain expense budgets within planned amounts on a monthly and annual basis.
  10. Audit the store room inventory for accuracy, control, orderliness, and cost.
  11. Supervise the planning process and machine shop for work flow, priorities, and craftsmanship.
  12. Develop and track facilities PMs in the PMC2000 system to include HVAC, fire protection, and all other related building equipment/structure.
  13. Manage and lead the PM down process to include; resource planning, reconciliation of correctives and preventatives, parts sourcing, and critical activities to improve uptime
  14. Drive teamwork between Operations functions to include: assisting in the development of operator skills, support of running-for-quality, education of the teams on machine logic, and contributions at a peer level in support of the entire business goal set.
  15.  Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Include minimum qualifications for formal training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or working experience.  Identify the level of knowledge; skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required to perform the essential job responsibilities and duties competently.

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

BA/BS in Management or Engineering or combination of equivalent experience.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

1.      Hands-on knowledge of production systems, project management, leadership skills, influence skills, root cause analysis, SPC concepts, team leadership, ability to self-generate improvement ideas and take into action, Windows operating systems

2.      Change Management experience in a Maintenance environment

3.      Knowledge of MP2 or other maintenance software

4.      Experience in a highly automated consumer or food production operation would be preferred (GMP knowledge a plus)

5.      Lean or six sigma experience/training preferred but not required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.

2.         Strong communication and presentation skills.

3.         Strong computer and information technology skills.

4.         Good verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to generate reports.
