Job Summary:
The ideal candidate for the Maintenance Manager role is a leader of a group of mechanics responsible to execute work to maintain the reliability of the extrusion equipment. The company has recorded record sales and has grown out of the current structure to create a maintenance manager position to help manage work orders and manage line calls. This position requires good communication skills and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and execution of the daily maintenance plan. This is a hands-on, roll up your sleeves, position that will spend a large majority of time on the floor with Maintenance team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Manager oversees numerous tasks to maintain the optimal condition of the organization's physical assets. Primary responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and procedures that minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions.
- Supervising and supporting the maintenance team to ensure that all maintenance activities are performed efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.
- Conducting regular inspections and audits of facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Managing maintenance-related budgets, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining high standards of equipment and facility upkeep.
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance maintenance procedures and reduce operational costs.
In day-to-day operations, the Maintenance Manager is tasked with a variety of duties, including:
- Planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance work.
- Ensuring that all maintenance work is documented according to internal and external requirements.
- Monitoring the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, planning re-orders to avoid delays in maintenance activities.
- Training and developing maintenance staff to enhance their skill sets and efficiency.
- Responding promptly to emergency situations involving equipment breakdowns, mitigating potential hazards or interruptions.
Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience:
Required
- Minimum of 5 years leading a Maintenance Department within a manufacturing environment
- Strong industrial electrical background working with 3 phase motors and controls, servo motors, and VFDs.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures including best safety practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willingness to respond and coordinate resources on unscheduled days and weekends.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), or equivalent years of experience
- Ability to develop and maintain a partnership and communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally with Safety, Operations, Engineering, executives, peers, contractors, and vendors
- Ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects
- Experience with a CMMS system
- TPM/Lean Manufacturing Principles
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of mechanics across a 24/7 operation.
