The Maintenance Manager is responsible for improving and sustaining a world-class maintenance and reliability organization that delivers safe, stable, and cost-effective asset performance. This role designs and governs the site’s maintenance operating system, integrating work management discipline, preventive and predictive maintenance strategy, reliability engineering principles, and data-driven decision making into a cohesive framework. The Maintenance Program Manager drives the transition from reactive maintenance to proactive asset management, ensuring clear standards, measurable performance outcomes, workforce capability development, and cross-functional alignment with Operations and Engineering. Success in this role is defined by improved uptime, reduced lifecycle cost, strengthened execution discipline backed by standardized processes, and a culture of ownership and accountability across the maintenance function.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site’s maintenance and reliability framework, including work management standards, CMMS governance, PM/PdM strategy, and reliability engineering integration.
- Establish and manage KPIs (e.g., corrective/reaction ratios, MTTR, planned work %, schedule compliance, backlog health, cost performance) and utilize asset criticality and risk analysis to prioritize actions that improve uptime, reduce lifecycle cost, and mitigate operational risk.
- Champion workforce capability development, including candidate selection, technical training pathways, and continuous performance management of all direct reports, emphasizing safety and best practices
- Own CMMS system integrity, standards, workflows, and reporting accuracy to ensure data-driven decision making.
- Work as the point of contact for third-party contractors and vendors to secure needed goods and services, utilize SAP to create requisitions for new purchases
- Implement and optimize RCM, PMO, condition-based monitoring, and root cause analysis programs to transition the organization from reactive maintenance to a proactive, reliability-centered culture.
- Develop, execute, and sustain predictive and preventative maintenance strategies using the plant's CMMS and condition monitoring tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited university preferred, associates required.
- Minimum 8–12 years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven experience implementing or governing CMMS systems.
- Outstanding oral and written communication and collaboration skills across disciplines and levels. Team player.
- Reliability or Project Management Certifications (RCM2/3, CMRP, CRL, PMP) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt a plus
