The Maintenance Manager will oversee all aspects of maintenance for a brand new 300,000 sq. foot facility slated to open in Spring of 2025.
The Maintenance Manager will provide leadership and direction to maintenance staff covering a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation as it relates to Ammonia Refrigeration, building, grounds and equipment maintenance. This role will carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, OSHA, EPA regulations and applicable guidelines in addition to providing support to warehouse management staff through cross functional collaboration and effective maintenance programs.
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter
Leads refrigeration, building, grounds and equipment maintenance functions, including improvement initiatives and process changes.
Oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair of ammonia refrigeration equipment and systems performed by on-site staff or contractors. Manages all maintenance and technical needs for the facility while ensuring timely repair and on track preventative maintenance schedules for refrigeration, equipment and building.
Responsible for maintenance staffing, scheduling, training and development, performance management and corrective actions.
Collaborates with warehouse management team on material handling equipment utilization and safety, employee safety, warehouse racking integrity, refrigeration system protocols, security and emergency preparedness.
Maintains all inspection, audit and maintenance records. Participates in facility audits, periodic warehouse racking inspections and compliance reviews.
Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance.
Effectively supervises maintenance inventory as it relates to purchasing of parts, supplies and maintenance consumables.
Supports capital projects, coordination with contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers along with the engineering team. Leads and coordinates all energy and sustainability projects. Plans and proposes strategic capital expenditure and fiscal budget.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and codes related to Ammonia Refrigeration Operations, Environmental Health and Safety and overall facility safety.
You Are Best Suited For The Role If You Have The Following Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial mechanical or related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience.
Five years of refrigeration experience with Industrial Ammonia and HVAC systems.
Familiarity with PSM, RMP, process instrumentation and process drawings.
RETA CARO or CIRO Certification preferred but not necessary
Certified Facilities Management (CFM) certification
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Practices and 5S systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based applications. SAP, a plus.
Experience leading and following safety/security policies and procedures.
Ability to follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, motivate and retain a team of employees.
Position requires up to 10% travel, ground and/or air transportation. Onboarding process will require significantly more travel to sites with less travel after site start up.
Adheres to all company established safety standards, policies and procedures as well as state and federal laws including EPA, OSHA and MOSH, concerning refrigeration operations.
