he Maintenance Manager provides management of facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and developing and managing all strategic and tactical maintenance efforts for the plant. Provides the overall leadership and management of the maintenance team and applies the Carmeuse guiding principles in the course of managing the maintenance team.
Responsibilities: (main areas of responsibilities of the position)
Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals in the PaSSE and SHARP plans
Interface with MSHA/MOL and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as required
Follow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as needed or applicable
Participate in the daily morning production meeting to communicate with production and maintenance
Preparation and implementation of training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectively
Ensure the Management System is effective and well understood by all employees
Actively participate in the weekly scheduling meeting between maintenance and production
A good understanding of the maintenance modules under the CMMS/SAP system
Ensures correct, accurate, and timely reporting of information on all maintenance Work Orders, including “Urgent Repairs”
Ensure maintenance personnel perform good quality work
Ensure the execution of the daily maintenance plan
Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns
Routinely monitor key performance indicators identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings
Provide feedback to the maintenance team on goals and expectations status
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
Lead the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Basic Requirements:
Related Engineering Bachelor Degree, or Master’s Degree is preferred
Minimum 10+ years’ experience progressive experience in mining or heavy engineering industry
Extensive knowledge and background in operations supply chain business processes, extensive knowledge of continuous manufacturing and production processes, knowledge and experience working contemporary concepts of continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing
Demonstrated competency in preventative, predictive, basic care practices, and computerized maintenance management systems; strong management and Total Productive Maintenance experience; Six Sigma training is a plus
Proven in leading operational excellence through applying behaviour based management
Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills
Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic
Fluency in spoken and written English
