**PURPOSE:

**

To build, fabricate or repair any tools or parts and repair equipment to support production.

**

**

**

**

**POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

**

  • Knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.

  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments to ensure that tooling and equipment conforms to the defined specifications.

  • Build new and replacement tooling and parts for production equipment.

  • Repair and rebuild production equipment.

  • Ability to use a welder for simple repair or fabrication.

  • Performs mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and simple electrical operations in maintenance of Driv-Lok machine tools, equipment, facilities, and buildings.

  • Document work and deviations

  • Must operate lift truck.

  • Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of supplies and tools.

  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or his/her designee.

**QUALIFICATIONS:

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

**

  • 1-3 years trades training or equivalent, including: shop mathematics, handbook formulas, and the use of a variety of precision measuring instruments,

  • Equivalent of 1-3 years actual equipment maintenance.

  • Must be capable of scheduling work requirements, keeping accurate records and must be a good communicator.

  • Must be flexible in work assignments and be able to work cooperatively as a team member and demonstrate respect and courtesy to all internal and external customers

**LANGUAGE ABILITY:

**

Ability to read and work with complicated drawings, sketches, process sheets, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have effective communication skills.

**MATH ABILITY:

**

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with close tolerances.

**REASONING ABILITY:

**

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be flexible in work assignments and be able to work cooperatively as a team member and demonstrate respect and courtesy to all internal and external customers.

**COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Manufacturing software and Database software.

**CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

**

Fork truck license required; Driv-Lok provides training.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts in a factory environment with noise, oil, and smoke.

The employee will be working with milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, precision measuring instruments, hand tools, welders, hoists, hand and fork trucks.
