SUMMARY:

Support maintenance manager and the mission of the company. Electrical experience is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Will report to maintenance manager daily. Will ensure maintenance techs are on the floor looking, listening, and searching for potential equipment problems prior to shifting start and throughout the shift. Any repairs that need to be immediately addressed should be and those that need to be scheduled are to be immediately communicated to the maintenance manager.

· Ensure that maintenance techs work closely with production line leads to maintain employee and facility safety, line efficiency, and food safety standards.

· Be present for pre-shift production meetings to field concerns from production and from maintenance to production.

· Will respond to calls for maintenance assistance in a professional and timely manner.

· Will promote a positive teamwork environment, and safe working conditions and make food safety a top priority to all maintenance techs.

· Ensure Roundsman Logs are completed daily by each tech and turned in by the next day.

· Make sure parts logs are filled out correctly and all information is complete.

· Will complete on time, any projects or work orders or PMs assigned to the shift.

· Must be capable of troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or ammonia refrigeration problems and completing the necessary repairs needed through the use of hand tools and the replacement and installation of required parts or components of the equipment, following all safety guidelines and quality GMP’s.

· Will communicate clearly, thoroughly, and consistently with the on-coming shift to lead a re-cap of issues, concerns, repairs, and needs.

· Conduct monthly training for the entire group, in rotation with other Maintenance Leads.

· Be OSHA 10 or 30 Hour certified.

· Complete KT (Kepner Tregoe) training and apply those methods when problem-solving.

· Participate in regularly scheduled leadership training and recommend other tech’s for the leadership training program.

· Identify training needs for techs and coordinate those needs with our learning (training) coordinator.

· Keep the shop area clean and orderly.

· Make recommendations to the Project Coordinator of needs to benefit safety and efficiency.

· QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, however, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Individuals must be capable to troubleshoot and repair electrical drives, motors, controls, and PLCs,. Must be capable of troubleshooting and repair of mechanical operations including pumps, hydraulics, air-driven equipment, and valves. The candidate needs 2-5 years of electrical experience. Must be capable of troubleshooting and repairing of anhydrous ammonia chilling system.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, however, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Individuals must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs by themselves. Any weight more than this will require additional assistance from other team members or through the use of mechanical lifting devices such as a forklift, crane, or dolly. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Inside the plant is cool and damp. Outside and shop conditions are cold to hot depending on the time of year. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
