Description
Pay Range: $28 - $32/hr
Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Summary: Trains and approves activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of industrial plant by performing the following duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews problem history with plant manager and shift lead to determine the optimum frequency for preventative maintenance.
Observes equipment for unusual sounds and/or visual indications to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, operators, or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as motors, starters, and wiring, as well as electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Repairs and maintains physical structure of building.
Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Starts equipment after service to test for proper operation
Diagnoses causes of breakdown and suggests modifications to improve operation. Makes additional repairs to systems if unexpected problems are observed during service
Monitors critical components for correct function and reports any possible problems.
Follows all written procedures and instructions
Performs required work in a safe and efficient manner, with minimal to no supervision
Is available for call-in when assigned
Performs Preventive Maintenance tasks as needed
Able and willing to train other employees in the requirements of this job
Understand and apply State Heat Treat’s Quality Program. Actively participate in solving problems and improving the system.
Able to safely and effectively operate a Fork Truck
Participates in team activities for problem solving and process development
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Trains and coordinates all maintenance mechanics and preventative maintenance mechanics
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training
Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or any combination of education and experience equal to twelve months.
