Description
OVERVIEW: The Maintenance Supervisor is a working role which repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. The role also oversees and directs the Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Workers, sets the maintenance budget, and oversees the maintenance department.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
· Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
· Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
· Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
· Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
· Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
· Repairs or replaces defective parts.
· Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
· Lubricates and cleans parts.
· Starts devices to test their performance.
· Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
· Programs PLC’s.
· Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
· Repairs electrical equipment.
· Performs maintenance on production and office areas.
· Perform building upkeep tasks that include but are no limited too painting, sanitation, grounds keeping.
· Plans, organizes, and executed construction and demolition projects
· Follows and ensures good manufacturing practices at all times
· Follows and adheres to the company’s safety program
· In charge of interviewing, hiring, and training employees as well as administering performance reviews, addressing complaints and resolving problems
· Spend 70% of time working in the field and 30% prioritizing schedules and delegating work assignments; directly supervise plant staff to achieve production objectives at the lowest cost while maintaining company quality standards.
