1st Shift Thursday to Sunday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

Starting Pay Range: $20.15 - $28.80 /hr

SUMMARY

Inspects, oils, and greases moving parts of friction surfaces of mechanical equipment such as shaft and motor bearings, sprockets, drive chains, gears, and pulleys by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Fills container such as oilcan, grease gun, or tank of lubrication truck with specified lubricant.

Squirts or pours oil on moving parts and friction surfaces, or into holes, oil cups, or reservoirs.

Turns oil cup valves to regulate flow of oil to moving parts.

Forces grease into bearings with grease gun, smears grease on friction surfaces, or packs grease cups by hand.

Fills wells and sumps of lubricating systems with oil.

Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.

Cleans machines, sweep floors, and transport stock.

Documents of inspections for predictive maintenance scheduling.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

6 months work experience in industrial/manufacturing/construction or landscaping environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Maintain an updated forklift drivers license (renewable every 3 years).

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Must be able to work long hours and tow a charged water hose. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Shift Schedule:

1st Shift Sunday to Wednesday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

1st Shift Thursday to Sunday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

*** Sunday is a planned downtime primarily for maintenance, housekeeping and training.

Shifts are subject to periodic rotation every 8 weeks.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
