Job Overview:

Tarkett North America is looking for a Maintenance and Engineering Manager to join out talented team in Florence Alabama. This role will be responsible for leading the maintenance and engineering functions at our 2-site manufacturing campus.

Job Description

  • Prioritize safety at all times

  • Determine required engineering and maintenance resources to effectively support the Tarkett Florence Campus

  • Manage and mentor engineering and maintenance resources

  • Implement and manage Maintenance work processes using KPI’s to manage improvements.

  • Create improvement & reliability strategies in collaboration with operations team

  • Develop and lead change management through positive influence and alignment of various stakeholders.

  • Perform all phases of project management and engineering for manufacturing operations, including but not limited to: scope definition, design, budgeting, scheduling, line layouts, purchasing, cost estimating and control, implementation, system integration, documentation, report writing, start-up, and training.

  • Apply understanding of continuous improvement practices to engineering and maintenance projects.

  • Design and install safe manufacturing systems and processes.

  • Select and manage outside resources as required to meet customer, product, and capacity requirements.

  • Support cost reduction and efficiency improvement programs by participating and leading teams to review manufacturing operations and develop and implement recommendations.

  • Support engineering & maintenance team members with training and development, assistance on engineering projects, providing specialized expertise as required.

  • Build credibility and hold influence with plant leadership, customers, and vendors.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to site Engineers and Maintenance staff

  • Develop and deliver technical training for the various levels of the organization and serve as a technical resource on cross-functional platform/technology/product teams.

  • Develop and maintain material balances and unit operation capability information to ensure optimal production rates, parameters, and formulas.

  • Primary plant technical liaison for any potential changes to plant manufacturing systems, including new products, materials, and systems. Ensure that safety, quality and financial metrics are understood and accounted for in any proposed changes (Management Of Change).

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE

  • BS degree in an engineering field is required

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in a management or supervisory role.
