We are looking for an experienced **Maintenance Electrician **to join our team. This is a hands-on, reactive maintenance position in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with480V electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, and industrial electrical troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Respond to electrical calls from operations and troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Troubleshoot480V motor controls, motor starters, start/stop circuits, and control circuits.
- Use electrical meters to diagnose electrical problems and perform circuit testing, includingmegger testing.
- Troubleshoot24V DC Allen-Bradley PLC inputs and outputs and field wiring.
- Diagnose and troubleshootVFD faults, including overcurrent conditions and rotation issues.
- UnderstandDC braking through VFDsand basic VFD operation.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting on equipment includingelectric arc furnaces, bag houses, and compressed dry air (CDA) systems.
- Conduct equipment rounds and identify potential electrical issues before they cause downtime.
- Follow electrical safety procedures, includingArc Flash, PPE, and electrical safe work practices.
- Work on electrical projects and develop additional skills towardProcess Control Technicianresponsibilities.
- Transformer experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- Industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing, steel, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong 480V motor control experience
- Ability to troubleshootmotor starters, start/stop circuits, and control wiring.
- Ability to read and use an electrical meter.
- Experience performingmegger testing.
- VFD troubleshooting experience – REQUIRED.
- Experience troubleshootingAllen-Bradley PLC inputs and outputs
- Strong understanding of24V DC control circuits.
- Knowledge ofArc Flash requirements and electrical PPE.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
