We are currently looking for a 2nd Shift Electrician for our location in Charlotte, North Carolina.

We have 5 facilities in Oregon, California, Illinois, North Carolina, and Ohio that supply new steel drums, reconditioned steel drums, reconditioned IBCs, plastic drums, and recycled plastic. The Electrician will help ensure that all components and machinery are operating properly electrically to maximize machine available and performance. Primary duties include providing safe and timely mechanical support, preventative maintenance, lubrication, repair, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and resolution of basic operational issues of machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have some mechanical experience; knowledge of pneumatics; and be able to conduct, maintain, test and replace electrical components in an effort to determine the equipment malfunction and restore to operation.

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Repair, modify and install equipment to maintain and operate the facility

  • Work in confined spaces, on elevated platforms, ladders, scaffolding, and roofs.

  • Perform all task associated with troubleshooting equipment and proof test equipment as necessary to solve problems and pro-actively prevent them. Perform all tasks associated with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

  • Recognize problems, identify root cause, develop options to address within time constraints, implement appropriate solution.

  • PLC ladder logic troubleshooting and maintenance of power systems through standard instrumentation.

  • Install, test and maintain control devices, presence-sensing devices, etc.

  • Accurately maintain records and reports as required.

  • Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs

  • Install, test and maintain process controlled by motor control systems.

  • Work from detailed technical documents, blueprints and schematics.

**Other Duties

**: Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform electrical work (frequent)

  • Operation of machines (infrequent)

**Qualifications

  • Advanced electrical knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret wiring schematics; troubleshoot, repair and replace AC/DC drives and motors, etc. - strongly preferred.

  • Experience using hand tools and power hand tools.

  • Ability to read, interpret and understand technical documents/manuals and CAD drawings of plant equipment.

  • Ability to perform confined space entry, work at heights, lifting, and manual labor.

  • Accept extended and or weekend schedules as necessary. Flexible start and end times.

  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment

  • Advanced knowledge of variable frequency drives, human machine interfaces, and fabrication skills is a plus

  • Diagnose system faults and troubleshoot faulty components for hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Ability to use a laptop to read, interpret, analyze, and modify ladder logic; use a laptop to perform program transfers to all models of PLCs in the plant along with uploading backup files.

  • Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings, blue prints and schematics.

  • Ability to climb overhead structures; work beneath machines, and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work.

  • Ability to work independently in a mature and professional manner.

**Required Education, Skill, and Experience

**:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Work Experience: Required

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent education/trade school certification. - Strongly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
