This role requires expertise in high-voltage systems, electrical controls, and automation equipment, ensuring the facility's electrical infrastructure operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Repair:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in accordance with local and national regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues using tools such as multimeters, meggers, and infrared thermography.
- Install conduits, wiring, and control systems for new and existing equipment.
- Replace and calibrate electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, sensors, and PLCs.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (LOTO, OSHA, NEC) and enforce workplace safety policies.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to align maintenance priorities.
- Serve as a key technical resource for electrical troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and equipment installations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow CMMS tracking for scheduled repairs.
- Train and mentor apprentice electricians as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Five or more years of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing or maintenance setting.
- Valid Journeyperson license (WA/OR).
- Experience with high-voltage systems, motor controls, and automation equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency in National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance and safety regulations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using electrical test equipment.
Preferred:
- Advanced certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or automation.
- Experience with PLC-based systems for process control and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
