Summary
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for supporting and coordinating maintenance activities within a high-pressure aluminum die casting manufacturing environment. This role assists with maintenance scheduling, work order management, parts coordination, contractor support, and preventive maintenance tracking to help ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
The Maintenance Coordinator works closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Tooling, and Purchasing to support safe and efficient plant operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinate daily maintenance activities and technician assignments.
- Manage and track maintenance work orders through the CMMS system.
- Schedule preventive and predictive maintenance activities for:
- Die cast machines
- Trim presses
- Furnaces
- Robots and automation systems
- Cooling systems
- Facility equipment
- Maintain maintenance records, downtime logs, and equipment history files.
- Assist in tracking equipment downtime and identifying recurring issues.
- Coordinate maintenance parts inventory and support spare parts management.
- Work with Purchasing to expedite critical replacement parts and outside services.
- Coordinate contractor scheduling and ensure compliance with plant safety requirements.
- Support maintenance planning during shutdowns, launches, and major repairs.
- Assist with maintaining compliance related to:
- OSHA
- Environmental regulations
- Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Preventive maintenance documentation
- Generate maintenance performance reports and KPI tracking, including:
- Downtime
- PM completion rates
- Equipment uptime
- Labor utilization
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and maintenance efficiency.
- Communicate maintenance priorities and status updates with Operations and Production teams.
- Works directly with our tooling vendors on both existing and new programs to source and manage all CNC tooling.
- Handles tooling procurement, including ordering new tools, replacements, and consumables required for production.
- Sets up and stages tooling for production to ensure machines are ready to run jobs efficiently.
- Maintains backup tooling and spare components to support quick tool changes and minimize downtime.
- Updates and manages our tooling books/documentation, ensuring all tooling aligns with current prints and engineering revisions.
- Supports production by ensuring the correct tooling is available, set up, and ready for immediate use.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical training in: Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, Business, Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of maintenance, manufacturing, or maintenance planning experience preferred.
- Experience in high-pressure aluminum die casting or heavy manufacturing preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with: CMMS systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, ERP systems
- Basic understanding of: Industrial maintenance systems. Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrical systems, Automation equipment
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with: Die cast equipment, Preventive maintenance systems, Robotics and automation, Spare parts inventory management, Shutdown planning
- Familiarity with: Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis. TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to: Heat, Noise, Molten aluminum operations, Industrial machinery, Forklift traffic, Combination of office and production floor responsibilities.
- Occasional overtime or weekend support may be required during shutdowns or equipment failures.
