JOB TITLE: Maintenance and Facilities Manager 

REPORTS TO: VP of Production

FLSA:  Non-exempt


JOB SUMMARY: The Maintenance and Facilities Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating the repair and maintenance of the Company’s facilities and equipment. Provides support to Accumold through the initial set-up and ongoing repairs and maintenance of injection and micro molding machines, controls and other equipment in Accumold’s operations. Assigns duties to Maintenance Technicians in Accumold Production/Tooling areas as needed for repair and preventive maintenance of equipment. 

Ensures maximum safe operations, equipment uptime, and reliable production flow. This role is responsible for executing a proactive, reliability-centered maintenance strategy that supports production targets, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Production Support & Equipment Reliability: Ensure maximum uptime of production equipment, lead root cause analysis, and improve MTBF and MTTR.
  • Maintenance Execution: Lead daily management routines, prioritize work based on risk, and ensure disciplined execution.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Maintain a robust PM program with >95% completion and implement predictive tools.
  • Safety Leadership: Enforce LOTO, machine guarding, arc flash, and OSHA compliance.
  • CMMS Management: Drive accurate work orders, backlog management, and data-driven decisions.
  • Facilities Management: Maintain utilities including compressed air, HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Spare Parts Management: Maintain critical spare parts and optimize inventory levels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support lean and downtime reduction initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Develop technicians and build a cross-trained team.
  • Other Duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Education/Experience. High school diploma or GED required. 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, 3+ years of maintenance leadership experience, Strong technical knowledge of: Industrial equipment (CNC, molding, automation, or similar, Electrical and mechanical systems, Experience with CMMS systems, Proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues, Working knowledge of OSHA and industrial safety standards


  • Preferred Qualifications. Associate technical degree, journeyman certification, or equivalent technical training. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, operations management, or related field. Experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment. Experience with automation, robotics, PLC troubleshooting, CNC equipment, injection molding, or micro-manufacturing equipment. Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, EPA, ISO, and other applicable compliance requirements. Experience leading reliability improvement, TPM, 5S, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement initiatives. Budget management and capital project experience. Experience managing contractors and outside service providers.
  • Computer SkillsAbility to operate personal computer. Knowledge of Windows based programs.
  • Language Skills. Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize instructions and short correspondence with professionals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, salespeople or during telephone conversations.
  • Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and understand complicated designs and drawings.

  • Physical Demands. Frequent movement throughout the facility is required. Duties may involve climbing, bending, stretching or crouching. Dexterity and strength to grasp items are necessary. Normal or corrected to normal vision is required with good color vision and close vision. May be required to move or transport up to 55 lbs.
  • Work EnvironmentThe duties of this job are varied according to the weather, about 20% of the time. Extreme hot or cold (summer/winter) temperatures are experienced during outside work or work in the Accumold building areas that are not climate controlled. Eighty percent of the normal work duties are executed in a climate-controlled environment with few temperature or humidity extremes. Noise levels will vary from very low to moderate depending on the location, inside or outside, when the work is performed. The noise level in the inside and outside work environment is usually moderate. Employee may have contact with machining residues such as steel chips, grinding dust, EDM smoke, cutting oils and coolants. Safety glasses meeting ANSI Z87.1 frames, glasses, and side shields are required.
