This Position
sets up and
operates
a vertical mill or CNC Lathe
to create customized parts within tolerance of prints.
Reviews and organizes work orders and pulls set up instructions and blueprints from Epicor if applicable.
Sets up appropriate programs to run the machine based on work orders and blueprints. May edit the programs and set up instructions.
Proficient at setting up and running at least 2 of the machines in the department.
Performs changeovers as needed, which often has manual aspects and requires attention to detail.
Deburr finished parts using deburring wheel or other hand tools if necessary.
Performs quality checks and measures finished parts using hand measurement tools to determine if they are within tolerance.
Makes appropriate offsets and edits to the program when parts are not within tolerance.
Scan parts into Epicor, log date and other details of the job.
Performs basic preventative maintenance on machine.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment and perform 5S tasks as required.
A team player with excellent communication skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and solid blueprint reading skills.
Ability to think abstractly to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems.
Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
2+ years experience operating lathes or Mills.
Navigate thru CNC controls.
Reading and editing G Code
Ability to lift/push/pull 40 lbs safely.
Candidates with two (2) or fewer "Inconsistent" ratings on their most recent performance review are qualified to proceed with the interview process.
Candidates with three (3) or more "Inconsistent" ratings are not qualified to proceed.
Candidates with any "Unsatisfactory" rating on their most recent review are not qualified to proceed.
Candidates may have no more than one (1) documented written warning within the past 12 months in order to proceed.
Candidates may have not be on a Final Attendance warning in order to proceed.
