POSITION PURPOSE: The Maintenance Machinist Millwright’s primary responsibility is to install, maintain, upgrade, and repair machinery, with an added focus on machining parts as needed to support maintenance and production operations. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and precision machining to ensure optimal performance of equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. |
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: · Works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Engineers to accomplish departmental goals and objectives. - Installs, disassembles, and moves machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and other plant systems using hoists, pulleys, and rigging tools.
- Performs precision alignment of equipment using laser alignment tools, straightedges, levels, and dial indicators.
- Machines and fabricates replacement parts or custom components using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machine tools.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to fabricate or repair components to specification.
- Sets up and operates manual machine tools to perform machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, and grinding.
- Conducts quality checks and uses precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify tolerances and dimensions.
- Installs finished parts or subassemblies, aligns machinery, and ensures clearances meet specifications.
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment to ensure reliability and reduce downtime.
- Troubleshoots mechanical issues and participates in root cause analysis to identify and correct equipment failures.
- Coordinates assigned work with other craft groups and production departments as needed.
- Complies with all plant safety rules and reports all incidents and unsafe conditions to immediate supervision.
- Attends all departmental safety meetings and actively participates in safety programs and initiatives.
- Follows all Lion Elastomers' plant policies, procedures, and Maintenance Department practices.
- Participates in training programs to improve skills and support plant operations.
- Supports company environmental and safety compliance efforts per applicable regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: |
Education: High School Diploma, Some College, Technical School or NCCER (or equivalent) certification a Plus.
Related Experience: 3 Years Minimum in an industrial environment with related on-the-job experience in a related discipline, Prior experience must include being knowledgeable in process manufacturing, plant safety rules & regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental compliance standards, and site quality processes.

The incumbent must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude, be an effective communicator, possess basic computer competencies, and be capable & willing to work overtime and holidays, as may be required. The individual must have the ability to work in confined spaces and from elevated areas within the plant. In addition, this individual must be able to think clearly and solve multifaceted problems in the field with personnel of various degrees of skill levels, education and training.
