Our client in Willoughby, Ohio is seeking an experienced Machinist II to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machinery, producing high-quality precision parts, making machine offsets, and ensuring production meets quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong machining knowledge, blueprint reading skills, and experience working with various tooling and materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.## Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain designated CNC machines to produce quality parts according to specifications.
- Perform tool length and work offsets (G54, G55, etc.).
- Use edge finders, indicators, and precision measuring equipment to establish and verify machine setups.
- Monitor tooling performance and replace worn tooling as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
- Understand and follow all manufacturing processes, quality procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Work with a variety of materials while applying proper machining techniques and speeds/feeds.
- Assist with setup and utilize workholding devices, including vises, fixtures, clamps, and related equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement and willingness to expand machining knowledge and capabilities.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Experience operating and setting up 2-axis and/or 3-axis CNC mills or lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using precision measuring and quality inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining various metals and materials, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and specialty alloys.
- Knowledge of tooling, offsets, machine setup procedures, and tool wear management.
- Experience in a manufacturing, precision machining, or aerospace machining environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Machinist I experience or equivalent CNC machining experience.
- Familiarity with aerospace quality standards and tight-tolerance machining.
- Experience with preventive machine maintenance.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.
- Experience with Haas lathes.
