Position Overview:
As aCNC Machinist II, you will use CNC lathes to perform programming, setup, and machining to produce high-quality custom machine parts. This role requires 3-5 years of experience as a CNC lathe machinist, programming knowledge, and the ability to read technical drawings. Experience with micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools, as well as conversational programming, is essential.
Major Duties:
- Production:Produce parts to specifications or shop tolerances. Ensure parts meet drawing requirements or CREW’s common shop tolerance, including pre-finishing operations.
- Programming & Setup:Use Mastercam Software to program parts from SolidWorks models. Proficiency in CNC G & M codes and conversational programming required. Save CNC programs with support documents and maintain organized files.
- Inspection & Documentation:Inspect parts in the machine, fill out inspection reports and job travelers. Review blueprints and E-drawings for errors related to work being performed. Use MICROSOFT SHAREPOINT to locate job information and maintain a clean desktop.
- Final Processing:Perform final polishing and finishing of parts. Rustproof, wrap, and crate parts. Deburr finished parts and ensure all machine parts are properly protected.
- Material Handling:Straighten rolls and shafts using a torch or hydraulic press. Load and unload products on the machine. Obtain shop supplies and materials required for the job.
- Maintenance & Safety:Perform daily machine maintenance and complete daily maintenance sheets. Keep the working area clean and safe. Follow all standard CREW shop practices and ISO work instructions.
- Communication:Provide complete written work instructions to coworkers at shift changes. Communicate with operators and supervisors about work procedures and job status. Return all blueprints to the print rack and accurately log timekeeping data into Job-Boss Workstation Driver.
Qualifications:
- Experience:3-5 years of CNC lathe machinist experience required
- Programming Knowledge:Proficiency in CNC programming and conversational programming required
- Technical Skills:Ability to read technical drawings and use micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
- Training Availability:Can train on first shift
- Relocation:Must relocate to Riverdale, IL before starting work
